Most moms go into full survival mode at the beginning of mealtimes. It’s a race against the clock, a battle against hanger + a lot of crossed fingers that at least one kid will like what’s put in front of them.
When you don’t give yourself a moment to strategize, you end up wasting countless hours working yourself into a ball of stress, with a sense of heightened pressure + the sense that you’re just don’t doing good enough.
So give yourself a few minutes today to think through some practical ways you could shift your approach to mealtime so that it becomes more enjoyable, is less stressful + even turns into a time when you connect with your kids + empower them to be an integral part of the family’s meals.
When planning out how you’d like to structure your mealtime strategy, think about which part of your mealtime is most rushed or stressful. Is this before, during, or after the meal? Once you’ve identified where you want to start reworking your approach, it becomes a lot easier to pick strategies that will have the most impact.
I shared several tips in yesterdays Instagram Live (shared above) but if you’d like more ideas or a printable list to hang up + reference at mealtimes, you can get the free printable here!
And make sure to watch today’s live so that you hear more insights from me that will help you shift your mindset + identify some ways that will not only help but fit well with your personality.
