Organize your car and keep the car clean with free downloadable checklist by Erin Christopoulos, Momentum Family

The Messiest Part of Your Home?

While it may not be an actually part of your home, your car is one of the most lived-in spaces by your family! Today is when you start treating your car as one of the most high-traffic areas of your home + plan on how to get it organized (just like you would your kitchen or mudroom)! I’ve got a simple 3-step process to get car organization on your priority list. This will help you to keep it clean in a way that will be sustainable + easy enough for everyone in your family to follow.

Don’t Go Without a Plan

The key to successfully organizing your home is to start with an effective plan. You want to think about the purpose of your car + how it is supporting your family’s day-to-day life. This will look different for everyone! Also, be sure to think about whether you need a car that’s organized for sports gear, school bags or groceries! Are the kids commuting with you every day? If so, how can you organize their books + other supplies in a kid-friendly way that they can help to maintain?

Be sure to download the free guide for more specific ideas that will help you come up with a realistic plan that fits your family’s needs!

Make Sure Everyone Gets Involved

You cannot possibly keep the entire house organized on your own. In the same way that you’d expect everyone to pitch in when it comes to bedrooms, the playroom + the kitchen, you should also anticipate the family helping maintain the car + the organizational plan you put into place. When you make sure that all family members have a meaningful role to play + that they know what’s expected will go a long way when it comes to maintaining the car’s organization

Stay Consistent with Car Organization

Be sure that all of your efforts pay into a sustainable system that you can maintain! The download offers a lot of great ideas for ways you can remember to follow through on the plan. Remember, the goal here is a plan that’s good enough, not one that’s perfect! Be patient as you + the family grow accustomed to keeping your car organized. This is all about the journey + it won’t be 100% perfect + it will take time to adjust so that you hit that sweet spot! Just stick with it, you’ve got this!
